About us

Where care meets purpose

At Washington Work Well Clinics, we specialize in helping injured workers return to health, productivity, and confidence.

With a focus on occupational medicine, our team provides comprehensive care — from injury assessment and treatment to impairment ratings and work readiness exams. We work closely with patients, employers, and the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (LNI) to simplify the claim process and ensure every patient receives personalized, timely, and ethical care.

Our mission is to redefine workplace healthcare through compassion, clinical excellence, and transparent communication.

His research background in cardiothoracic surgery and transplant medicine at UNC Chapel Hill adds scientific rigor to his clinical decision-making, while his decade of primary care experience keeps him grounded in what matters most: getting patients well.

Dr. Abaño’s philosophy is simple: workers’ compensation shouldn’t mean workers waiting. He specializes in eliminating the administrative bottlenecks that delay care and recovery, working as an advocate for both injured employees and their employers to navigate the complexities of occupational health claims. Whether it’s a workplace injury, independent medical examination, or return-to-work evaluation, his focus remains constant—achieving maximum medical improvement with minimal delay. He understands that every day an employee is unable to work impacts both the individual’s well-being and the employer’s operations.

By bringing occupational medicine expertise directly to underserved areas in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Abaño solves the access problem that forces workers and employers to travel hours for specialized care. Fluent in English, Tagalog, and medical Spanish, he serves diverse communities with the same commitment he’s demonstrated through international medical missions across the Philippines, Haiti, and Nepal. His approach isn’t just about treating injuries—it’s about building trust, providing clarity, and delivering results that get everyone back to what they do best.
