Can I choose my own doctor for an L&I claim in Washington?

Yes, in Washington State injured workers have the right to choose their own attending physician. Our doctors are L&I approved providers.

Do I need a referral to be seen at Work Well Clinics?

No referral is needed. Simply call our office or request an appointment online and we will schedule you quickly.

Dr. Abaño is a Provider Advisor for the COHE Alliance of Western Washington. Washington L&I built the Centers of Occupational Health & Education (COHE) program around the practices that measurably shorten disability duration — early return-to-work planning, prompt provider communication, and coordinated care. Those aren’t practices we adopted. They’re practices we advise other clinics on, and they’re how we run every claim.
